Play within your means
A few simple habits keep gambling fun and under control:
- Set a budget before you play and treat it as the cost of entertainment—money you can afford to lose, not money you need.
- Set time limits so a session doesn’t stretch longer than you intended.
- Never chase losses. Trying to win back what you’ve lost is the fastest way to lose more.
- Don’t gamble when you’re upset, stressed, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Don’t borrow money to gamble, and don’t use funds set aside for essentials.
- Take regular breaks and keep gambling balanced with other activities you enjoy.
Warning signs of a gambling problem
Gambling may be becoming a problem if you or someone you know:
- Spends more time or money on gambling than intended.
- Chases losses or gambles to win back money.
- Lies about how much they gamble, or hides it from others.
- Gambles to escape stress, anxiety, or low moods.
- Borrows money or sells possessions to keep gambling.
- Neglects work, school, family, or responsibilities because of gambling.
- Feels restless, irritable, anxious, or guilty about gambling.
If several of these sound familiar, it may be time to take a break and reach out for support.
Tools that can help
Most reputable operators provide built-in tools to help you stay in control. Through your account or by contacting the operator’s support team, you can usually:
- Set deposit, loss, or wager limits over a daily, weekly, or monthly period.
- Take a time-out or cooling-off period to pause your account temporarily.
- Request self-exclusion to close your account for an extended period or permanently.
If you decide to step away, use these tools early—before a session, not in the middle of one.
Protecting minors
Gambling is for adults only. You must be of legal gambling age to use any operator linked from this Site—at minimum 18, and 21 or older where required. If minors have access to your devices, keep your account credentials private and consider parental-control or site-blocking software to prevent underage access.
